These will be great for winter cycling; waterproof, closed front with side opening, high enough to be out of the slush, and great grip that is not so wide you cannot fit pedal straps. Ordered one size larger than shoe size, and would order 2 sizes larger if you like to layer socks. Everything is awesome, fit my wide feet which is surprising. Very satisfied, telling freinds
