Introduction:

McIntosh C22 has always been the classic famous preamplifier that Audiophile has longed for. Whether it is the first version in 1963 and the re-engraved version that was launched in 1995, every release and listing has caused a heated purchase. Its sound is transparent and accurate, and it has become the standard equipment for audiophile players to evaluate the sound of the audio system for many years. Even the earliest used machines are still sold for more than USD $5000.

If you simply look at the schematic diagram, many people think that it is a Marantz 7 circuit. There are still many differences between these two circuits. The design of McIntosh C22 is more rigorous and elaborate. It was considered avant-garde in that era. In the contemporary view, the relatively new technology is the first to use electromagnetic relays to switch signals, and at the same time use a number of circuit improvement technologies. So the sound coming out is also more accurate.

We have referred to its core amplifier circuit part (this machine does not include the Phono amplifier part). After repeated sound comparison tests with the original machine, the overall wiring and layout materials have been revised repeatedly. This is now the pre-level for Audiophile players to enjoy.

This machine uses a non-breakpoint A-core transformer, a dedicated custom multi-gear tone switch, ALPS Type 27 volume potentiometer, sandblasted gold-plated RCA. Full aluminum chassis.
